The continent was well covered by Ptolemy, although India appears much foreshortened and Ceylon is drawn much larger. The earliest printed maps are the Munster maps.

Asia.An Accurate Map of Asia by Emanuel Bowen, Geographer to His Majesty, regulated by Astronomical Observations. Showing the mythical Juan de Gama Land that Bering was looking for. He had instructions from Peter the Great to look for a land bridge joining Asia and North America, and also the Island of Juan de Gama, he sailed west for three days looking for it in 1729.
