Here are the answers to some of the most frequent questions we get asked here at KittyPrint...
To make it as easy as possible, you can pay me by cheque in ŁUK or $US, or else by PayPal, Western Union or Money Gram. Paypal also accepts all major credit cards.
Here's how it works:
Unless otherwise noted, all my prints and maps are over 100 years old. I don't consider anything less than 100 years old to be an antique. Occasionally I have items in stock that are just under 100 years old, if they are of particular interest to collectors. Many items are much more than 100 years old, dating back as far as the sixteenth century. I provide publication dates for all items, as accurately as I know how.
No. All my prints and maps are genuine antiques, not reproductions or reprints. If ever you discover that an item I have sold you is not genuine, I will give you an instant refund. It has never happened yet in 30 years trading.
Yes. I ship all over the world. I have customers in the UK, USA, Europe, Asia Latin America, the Middle East, Canada, Australia, South Africa and all the bits in between. I either use the normal postal services, or if you are in a hurry, I can send via DHL at your expense. Either way I make sure your delivery is fully insured.
I can send them either rolled, or flat packed in hard cardboard. It depends on the item and on your preferences. In nearly thirty years in business, I have never had an item arrive damaged.
Yes. All deliveries are insured for their purchase price when I send them. If the item does not arrive, you will receive your money back in full. If it arrives damaged, or if you do not like it when it arrives, just return it, appropriatedly packed, and I will give you an unconditional refund.
I do not provide mounts (mattes). You can get mounts made locally at any reputable picture framer.
No. Or rather yes, I am constantly buying new stock, but I have my own sources with whom I have been working in some cases for decades. If you are thinking of trying to sell me your own maps and prints, please don't be offended, but you are wasting your time. I have never yet bought anything as a result of an unsolicited email.
I would rather you didn't. I receive dozens of enquiries every week from people looking for information on their old maps and prints, I can't possibly answer them all. I suggest that you first see how you get on with Google, and then can I suggest that you contact the Print Council of America and see if they can help.
No. We receive countless proposals for web services, advertising, etc. We have never once responded to a single one. Save your electrons for people who like receiving spam.
My son does. And I think he does a pretty good job, don't you?
