Gotthilf Heinrich von Schubert (1780-1860), was a German physician and naturalist who studied theology, changed to medicine, and then to research. He lectured on animal magnetism, clairvoyance and dreams. His book on “Symbolism of Dreams” was very famous at the time (1814)
This coloured engraving is from “Naturgeschichte des Pflanzenreichs in Bildern.” prepared by Prof. Hochstetter, published by Schreiber and Schill in 1853.
